Canadian Vehicle Decontamination

Vehicle decontamination is an extremely important and much-needed but often over-looked service.

This 2 day course trains students on the proper decontamination procedures after a violent crime, or a traumatic situation, theft or even air bag deployment. This type of service often requires the removal of many parts of the interior, such as door panels, dash boards, seats, vents and sometimes internal electrical components as they all can become contaminated with bodily fluids. For example if blood has been spilled inside a vehicle there is a good chance that the blood has found its way into the vehicles HVAC system. Unfortunately, once that blood dries, the next time you turn on the vehicle's air system it will blow out dry flakes of blood. Since all strains of Hepatitis are stable in dry blood, even though it is exposed to the air, should any of these dry flakes of blood land in any passengers mucous membranes, (i.e. eyes, nose mouth), you now have an exposure incident. This is classified as a "liability" issue and passengers are at risk.

Upon completion of this course students will be certified as a "Vehicle Decontamination Specialist" by the Canadian Authority For Decontamination Specialists and the Ontario Ministry of Education.
